New Beginnings

The new year is approaching fast, sometimes it comes with big changes as for a young relative who's moving to his first own home. The kitchen has some lovely aqua tiles hence the colour of the card, he'll also get an aqua bowl for the popcorn he so much love....fortunately he doesn't visit my blog, so no spoiler warning :)

Challenges:
CASology:Toast
Time Out Challenges: 'With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning'

Materials used:
Papermania star image stamped with Pistachio Distress ink, Tilda glass image stamped with black Memento ink and coloured with Pistachio and Peacock Feather Distress inks with a pen nib. Some highlights were added with a white Posca pen, Aqua Distress Stickles and Wink of Stella. The sentiment is stamped with Exchangeables alphabet stamps and black Memento ink onto the Panduro card stock.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! So, do you have any plans or wishes for the next year? I'm opting for the exercise more choice...it usually lasts for a month, maybe I can stretch it to two months, cheers!!!

Silent snow in the air

Hiya, last Christmas card of the year. A lovely Michael Powell image and Brushos onto watercolour paper. I even tried some smooshing, it's great fun :)

Challenges:

A white Posca pen to add that snowy feeling.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! I guess that I should be baking Christmas cookies, cleaning the house and shopping pressies till I drop,  but ho ho, I'm downsizing. We have a new bakery were I live, no one can see the dust in the winter darkness and everyone gets a Christmas pressie. Good enough and time for crafting :)

Cozy Winter Feelings

This morning I woke up to a white winter scene outside my window, that's the charm of winters in Stockholm. One day with rain and sunshine, next with clouds and slowly falling snow flakes. You get all the weather sensations in two days :)

Challenges:

Materials used:
Brick wall embossing folder, Martha Stewart border punch, snowflake die, eyelet, free ticket, distress inks and stickles, gel medium, scissors, 3D squares, Vilda stamps and Archival ink.

You can see some of the background stamping.

White Winter Hymnal, don't follow the pack :)

Thank you for visiting, it's much appreciated.

Have a wonderful weekend!

In the Woods

Hiya, all good? I've been rummaging through the unfinished objects, some of them will probably never see the daylight again. You know those you pick up and try to look at from every angle, squeezing your eyes in an attempt to find something propitious.

Challenges:
CAS on Sunday: Christmas
Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers: UFO's (UnFinished Objects)

Materials used:
The UFO; Joanna Sheen sentiment stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with a mix of pearl and sparkly powder. A mask was cut out to create the slope, the Stampcape's fir image was stamped with Distress inks and the sky and the snow was sponged. Some splatters of water to get the effect of a sun and soft snow.

The finishing touches: The scene was cut out and the edges were coloured with Distress inks, the image was mounted with 3D tape onto Bazzill hammered card stock, some Tim Holtz jute string was added to give texture and softness.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated. I'm enjoying the weekend to the full, from household chores to some crafting. I might even find a nice Sci Fi to enjoy, some other UFO's to marvel. Stay safe and warm my friends!

Embrace life

Hope you're in the pink and sparkling! If not, I'm sending gentle hugs your way. Today's card is all in for pink and sparkle...and snow, as we had 50 cm of snow last Wednesday, it's all gone now!

Challenges:
CASology: Embrace
Craft Stamper: Take a stamp

The sparkle!

Materials used:
Stampendous tree image stamped with Watering Can Archival ink onto watercolour paper. A gentle sprinkle of Brilliant Red Brusho and a shower of water. The excess colour was dabbed with a paper towel.

Some of the Brusho colour was picked with a wet brush to fill in the hearts. More colour was added with different Derwent watercolour pens to add dimension and to colour to the tree trunk. Highlights and snow was added with a white Posca pen.

The outlines of the image was filled in with a black 0,1 Uni Pin fine line pen and the sparkle comes from Wink of Stella and Fairy Dust Stickles.

A pink snippet was enough to cut out the letters from the Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet. The letters were outlined with the white posca pen and the black fine liner to make them pop.

The edges of the watercolour paper were distressed with a pair of scissors and mounted with 3D tape onto hammered Bazzill card stock.

Thank you so much for visiting, it means the world! I'm hoping to be a much better blogger and spend some time visiting you. Life has been a bit hectic.

Love and warm hugs

Hey 'Ombre!

Hey 'Ombre! I've been watching Spanish movies and TV-series lately and I find myself speaking with a slight Spanish lisp sometimes, especially when ordering an Espresso, I know that it's very silly :) I do like Spanish lace too, so my Ombre card got that. Then I went for traditional Finnish colours and a Swedish sentiment that says "Congratulations on your day".  I could add that I'm enjoying a cuppa of Earl Grey when writing this and that I probably can find something nice about every country, I'm in a generous mood today.

Challenges:

Take care and stay safe and warm!

Celebrate every day

Hope you're well and if not, lots of thoughts your way. We're approaching the winter darkness fast here in the Northern Hemisphere and I'm all in for celebrating something every day; giving thanks that I have a home, food every day, fresh water to drink and family and friends. My grandfather taught it to me when I was a child.

Addicted to Stamps: Make your mark
Less Is More: Celebrate

Materials used:
Bazzill hammered card stock, used some tape to strip of thin layers of it to create some extra texture.
Masked a panel and colured it with layers of Distress inks.
Free stamp from the Craft Stamper magazine, I cut out the tiny hearts, stamped with black ink. Then with embossing ink and heat embossed with fine clear powder.
ART-C feather stamps and dies on those smaller snippets in my scrap heap.
Distress ink and Sakura pens to colour the feathers, 3 D squares to layer the cut outs.

Something to listen at this beautiful day!

Last but not least, a monster to Addicted to CAS, if it's ok with a large cut out, a wooden Monster from Argentina on DQWV paper.

Thank you for visiting, it's much appreciated!

Guardian Angel

Howdy, we're in full Autumnal colours in Stockholm. My brisk morning walk was a bit nippy so here I am with yet another card for Christmas. This time with Penny Black stamps, Stickles, Liquid Pearls and muted watercolours.

Challenges:
Addicted to CAS: Watercolour
CASology: Support (angels)
Less is More: One Layer and Dream theme

Isn't she gorgeous with her 14th century trumpet?! She would have lit up any dreary and ill-lit Medieval castle, a mere dream. I've been reading a lot of historical novels lately, hence the Medieval touch today.

Thank you for visiting, it's much appreciated! I'll pay you a visit later today and tomorrow, there's a carrot cake and apple sauce to made.

Reflections

Glad to see you again, I've had a small blogger brake, catching up with chores. I've been painting some too and this piece isn't the easiest to photograph so you only get two parts of it until I'm pleased with the full pic. I'm calling her the reflecting lady, she's seems to be brooding or mulling over something. My own reflection is that I should consider a sturdier paper when painting, it looks like she has some skin issues.

I'm entering Paint Party Friday, a great place for inspiration, they are so talented there! I'm also entering Friday Faces, another inspirational blog.

My fathers auntie painted fabulous roses, these reminds me of her.

Thank you for visiting, it's much appreciated! Today is a special one in the Nordic countries as we celebrate Midsummer eve in a grand way. The night don't get dark and the Nature stands in her best dress. We'll have pickled herring, early potatoes, salmon, grilled meat, strawberries outdoors and sing a song or two. Don't even dew drops look better than diamonds in the early morning light? Have a wonderful weekend where ever you are!

Glad midsommar! Happy Midsummer! Hyvää Juhannusta!

Always a Chick

Good morning my lovelies, hope your weekend is great so far. We're enjoying a Bank Holiday so I'm making the most of it. I used snippets in different yellow and orange shades to make this card, so I'm entering Pixie's Snippets Playground this week too.

I'm also entering Craft Stamper's Get Inky challenge as I used:

Black Memento ink for the bird image
Brusho inks for the Stamplorations bird and Cuttlebug alphabet cut outs
Distress inks for the Tim Holtz feathers and the stamped panel with an Inkadinkado feather

I so love this image and Brushos.

Different textures to add interest. Can't remember the make of the sweet DP snippet.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Messy Winter Storm

Good morning! Hope you're having a lovely weekend. I'm actually taking part of the May Rudolph Day Challenge today. My intention was to take part of it every month but....I'm feeling as students  before exams here, there was the laundry and the dog grooming (even if I don't have a dog) and I don't know what in between, lol! Here I am at last and with lots of Snippets and reusing so I'm also entering Pixie's Snippets Playground.

Lot's of Stickles!
So what did I use?

The dark blue paper is from a shopping bag, the house is from a men's shirt ( the collar thingy), the inky snow is a piece I've used as a mask when inking.

A black pen to draw the windows, Distress inks in different shades, three Penny Black snow flake stamps stamped in different colours. You can see that the tiniest has the darkest colour. The larger ones are stamped onto the tiny one but with lighter colours.

White Liquitex Gesso splattered wildly and star shaped sequins. The sentiment is Joanna Sheen, stamped in Watering Can Archival ink.

Enjoy rest of the weekend and get messy with colours!

Time for Graduation

Springtime means time for graduation, here's one with fabulous sparkle and minimal stamping. I used a variety from my snippets collection which is now in recession. Soon I might treat myself to some new patterned papers :)

The fabulous glitter paper and a string from a gift.

Panduro papers, Cuttlebug postage stamp die, Quickutz star dies, Exhchangeables alphabet stamps, watering can Archival ink, 3D squares.

Ok, this one went wishy washy, the mint green faded away when taking the photo. And a neon pink top!!! Please erase my entry if I went too rogue here :)

Addicted to stamps and more: Anything Goes
Cute card Thursday: No dp
Moving Along with the times: The 80's
Simon Says Stamp: Anything Goes

Being Bold

Weekend at last and time for Paint Party Friday, yay!!! I mixed my medias totally and went with the flow; acrylics, texture gel, Brushos, Perfect Pearls and charcoal. The shimmer made it a challenge to take a decent pic.

The opposite journal page.

Thank you for visiting, it's much appreciated! Hope you'll have a wonderful crafty weekend. I'll be working with my plant containers adding a bit more flowers and some herbs. Happy Friday!

Pink & Girly at Sweet Stampin'

I'm late with my post, I got an awful bug and I've been keeping the tea companies alive this week. As you can guess, we're going pink at Sweet Stampin'. I'll be there soon too :)

I'm also entering the Girly challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

A perfect book tag or for decisions :)

I used the Alco ink floating colours technique to make the background, Dylusions stamps, Distress ink, white Posca pen for highlights, star sequins, EK Success corner adorners, pink eyelet, eyelet punch and glitter ribbon.

I better head back to a hot cuppa, thank you for visiting! Hope my bug hasn't gone viral...just kidding! My bug is a nasty little bacteria, I'll cure it with some David Bowie and Prince songs :)

Standing tall

Here's something for Paint Party Friday, I'm not particularly fast when painting, and I'll probably add some shadowing and highlights to this one. Maybe even a few more layers of colours.

I've experienced an unexpected feeling of freedom when using Willowing's method off processing every day life through journaling and colours. I used a magazine photo as a template for the face.

Dylusion stencil, Washi tape, different acrylic colours and pens, Liquitex gesso.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated!

Happy Friday!!!
