Hot and red

First day of the summer holidays, it's over 30 C and the sun is beaming. So the colours of today are hot and red, I'm not sure about them, but this is what happened in the crafty corner today. I tried my best to do something cute or beautiful, but there emerged this very angry young woman...all the time. I painted over 5 or 6 times, she was still so angry! So well, we have to follow our heart, if there is an angry young woman, let her out.

Challenges:
Art It Friday: Show your Face
Summer of colour 4: Two red colours and metallic

Studio Modern Red Acrylic, Crimson Promarker and Bronze Perfect Pearl

Can you see her angry look?! Very scary!!!

Materials used:
DQWV card stock, a masked That Special Touch stencil to make the brighter hearts.
Liquitex Matte medium, Acrylic paint and pens, PIN waterproof pens, Derwent Charcoal and pastel pens, Tilda apple stamp, QK heart die, Panduro small heart punch.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! Hope you're having a great week with time for crafting.

Love and hugs
Maarit

  2. I agree...sometimes you just have to let your project be what it wants to be. Really gorgeous though!

  7. This is so expressive - love the bold brush strokes in her hair. A bit brighter here today but very windy, so not as warm as the weather forecast suggested. Seems like it's only this part of the UK that hasn't had the really high temperatures. xx

  9. I'm firmly of the belief that whoever wants to appear will appear! I think it was Jane Davenport saying something like shaking the pencil and seeing who dropped out, well you get the idea ;)

  12. I guess this is a lesson as to not oppressing our feelings, both in your words and your beautiful painting. Blessings!

  17. Indeed: "Let's let her out"
And just yesterday, I was telling my best friend that we need to sometimes be "uppitty women."
    Perfect for me. Thank you.

  21. It took me a few minutes to see the angry girl and I thought the card was a pillow at first. I guess I am slow today. I like the idea of getting the anger out and using hearts (love) to make things better!

  27. Great piece. I love the sentiment as well. I don't think she's angry so much as fierce - no one will stop her from following her heart.
