Happy New Year!!!

So this is the last post of this year, and what a year it has been! It has been full of different challenges and I'm ready to move on to new adventures. Urm, and resolutions...they are always tricky, maybe work with mixed media or some kind of art journal. I wanted to go for one last year, but a page a day stumped me, maybe a page a week fits better in if the daily chores also need to be done.

I wish you a Very Happy New Year full of crafty pleasures!

I would like to enter:
Dream Valley Challenges: Christmas (2nd entry)

I used:
Five circles (6, 5, 4, 3 and 2 inches)
Penny Black snowflake stamp
Memento ink
Glitter and glue
Liquid Pearls

You can find the instructions here! It's a Martha Stewart idea. Be sure to crease the folds, it makes life easier!

Stay safe and have fun tonight!

Silent Night

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend! We have plenty of snow and strange enough I did even enjoy the snow blizzard we had earlier this week, it took a two hours to get home from work, it normal takes just an hour! But it was oh so beautiful with all the white goodness.

So you can tell that I was over the moon when I saw this stamp from Michael Powell. It's coloured with Derwent watercolour pencils. I added som glossy accents for the lights, a bit Stickles to the tree and some highlights with Sakura pens. The dies are Cuttlebug and the corners are made with EK Success small corner adorner punch.

It'll be all White on the Night

Good morning, we have a fabulous theme at Cupcake Craft Challenges this week; White On White! Isn't that perfect for lovely Christmas cards?! We're being sponsored by two generous sponsors this week, Simon Says Stamps are offering a lucky winner a $20 Gift Certificate and SK Digis are offering a lucky winner a $10 Gift Certificate. Please check our blog for all the details, and the teams fantastic cards!!!

How the card was made:

A Vilda Stamps Christmas tree was stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with a mix of pearly and glittery embossing inks. The tree was cut out and mounted on an embossed card stock (Cuttlebug's Polka Dots).

A window was cut out and embossed with a Spellbinder oval and mounted onto the card base and small scene.

Four corners were cut out with Cuttlebug corners, painted with white crackle paint and glued with Glossy Accents. A few pearls and a recycled ribbon for a bow and one more Christmas card to the pile. I played with different shades of white for interest, from chalk to pearl, kind of like the effect. I've got the inspiration for this card from Biggan, she makes such lovely clean cards!

I would like to enter:
Crafty Calendar Challenge: White Christmas (didn't go for the optional metal)
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge: Recycle/Upcycle (the ribbon is from a sweater)
Charisma Cardz Challenges: Christmas with a twist (no red, green or gold)
Dream Valley Challenges: Non Traditional Christmas
Stampin For the Weeekend: Use some texture
Simon Says Stamps: Anything Goes

Well, phew, I suppose I should be stressing around with some Christmas preps, but no, not this week. I've had the silly flue and will simply have a cuppa and put up my feet after work and enjoy visiting you!

Take care, stay safe and warm!

Paper Pleating

Hiya, hope you're all doing well! Time for a new Cupcake Craft Challenge and this week we want to see some paper pleating. Great for scrap users and us thrifty crafters. I made a real paper pleating statement, why go for tiny if you can go large? That counts for chocolate cakes too!!

The fabby image is from our generous sponsor A Day For Daisies who are offering a $12 Gift Card to a lucky winner. Bunny Zoe's Crafts are also generously offering a £10 Gift Voucher to a lucky winner. Great if you're like me, thinking of all things Christmas!!!

I hope that A Day For Daisies forgives me for stamping Merry Christmas in Swedish, it fitted perfectly to the image! I'm sure there are som fab dies for paper rosettes, but I went the old fashioned way by cutting a paper and using a score board to get the creases, then used some time for valley and mountain folds, it went quite quick as the paper was thin.

I also used:
ProMarkers, Alpha Markers
Sakura metallic pens, Stickles
Free paper from craft magazine
Alco inks for colouring the buttons

I would like to enter:
Simply Create Too: Use Your Stash (paper scraps and reused buttons)
Dream Valley Challenges: Anything Goes

Have a great week! I'll be back in two weeks, I'm totally busy at work!

Well, you all might have guessed that I struggle with colouring and this week isn't any different, some nice ideas went to the bin and I was almost giving up when a home made embossing folder with cupcakes caught my eyes. I'm quite pleased, it looks a bit like a Christmas card, but with a non traditional image.

I used:
Retired Panduro Cupcake stamp, Pro markers, Alpha Markers, Glossy Accents, Stickles
Hero Arts Alphabet, Spellbinder label, red Brilliance ink, Panduro button, acrylic colour
Ribbons are reused

Time for a little treat!

I'm so glad that you're here even though I'm not a good blogger at the moment, the class at Uni is taking all my time. So I thought that you might like a little treat, just because you're visiting.

The Magnolia background stamps are used but loved so they're in good condition and they need a new home. I've used the fence just once!

This will be an easy one, just leave a comment and of course if you would like to spread the word on your sidebar I would be more than pleased. I'll ship anywhere and add some cute new embellies. Oh, and if you can tell your favourite colour when commenting, I'll try to match the embellies for ya!

The candy will close October 22nd.

Pieced Off

Hiya everyone! I'm still here, just one week more and then everything will settle back to more normal blogging. This week at Cupcake Craft Challenges we want to see some paper piecing, I love paper piecing as it means that no colouring is needed and paper scraps can be used!!!! Yay!!!

Well, you can tell that by the number of exclamation marks that I liked the challenge and the fabby image generously offered by Paper Pretties. The image was coloured/shadowed with ProMarkers, I added a bit of glitter with Sakura pens and the deed was done. The sentiment is also from Paper Pretties and the corners are made with a Cuttlebug corner die.

We're generously being sponsored by Paper Pretties who are offering 6 digi images and by Freckled Fawn who are offering a $15 Gift Card to a lucky winner. Please check our blog for all details and for a special code; Freckled Fawn are giving free shipping on any order!!! Great, huh!!!

The sentiment is also a Penny Black stamp from the Clearly In Love set stamped in Memento Paris Dusk. I added a little of the ink with Cut'nDry pen nibs to the image and a little sparkle with a metallic Sakura pen and finished with a recycled silver charm.

Di's Digi Downloads are offering a happy winner a $10 Gift Certificate and Quixotic Paperie are offering another happy winner a £10 Gift Voucher, great, huh?!

Mine is an easy one, the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, made by Mo Manning, coloured with ProMarkers, Derwent water pens and Sakura metallic pens. Some glossy accents and he was done. Now when I'm looking at the image I'm wondering why I left the ground bare, ah, well, next time.

Thank you Rosie and welcome as a follower!!!! I loved to work with the fabby image!!! The Zebra is soo cute!

I went for the different greens of envy for this one; green raffia for the grass patches. Alpha Markers, Derwent water colours, Stickles and Glossy Accents for the zebra. A Nellie Snellen die, Hero Arts large plaid stamp, Distress inks and Liquid Pearls. And a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Kram means Hugs in Swedish and is stamped with an Exchangeable alphabet.

So Long Summer

Hiya, hope you're doing well and are having a relaxing weekend. I've been enjoying a quiet weekend, last week was so busy with work and a new course at the Uni. It's very exciting to learn new things, but oh my, I felt like my students do when I saw the amount of books we'll need go through. Do I need to read them all was my silent question!!!

So a very simple card emerged this time from the crafty corner, the fabby leaf stamp is an Exchangeable stamped with red Brilliance ink and embossed with extra fine clear powder.I masked the card sock to create the field for stamping.

The sentiment is from the Pink Paislee Nantucket set, stamped with Memories black ink. I added two bold gems to draw attention to the text.

Monday again and time for a new Cupcake Craft Challenge; Flowers! And we want to see a flower image or an image with flowers, not just as embellies.

We're being sponsored by the generous eyeCandie Creations who are offering 4 images of winners choice.

I went for a flower power linen apron. It'll cheer me up when cooking after a long day. The pink flower were cut out with TH flower die and the larger one was sewn, you can almost see the light green stem and the leaves.

Tearing

Hope you're all doing fine! I've been busy tearing papers, several of them, whilst trying to get the edges as wanted.   So here they are, the edges, and a fabby Penny Black stamp and festive Stickles' dots. The background was made with a retired Prickiformar stamp and Shabby Shutters Distress ink. It's greenish IRL, but the photo turned it beige.
The green backing paper was made with Memento Bamboo Leaves, a colour the photo didn't change. Would a day light lamp make a difference?

Could you guess?

Yup, it was a card made by me...I noticed half way through the week that I had added the blurry photo edges as usually, he he! Well, at least I changed the logo!!!

The cupcake stamp is from Panduro, it was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and heat embossed. The topping was stamped a second time and cut out for a 3D effect. The sentiment is from Prima and the backing papers are scraps, yay for that!

I also used:
White Sakura pen
Glossy Accents
Aqua Markers
EK Success corner rounder
QK flower die

I might need a Cupcake today, something distressing happened during the weekend and the only cure is wrapped in paper and full of gorgeous chocklit! Bigger mishaps needs buckets full of tea and minor ones will luckily enough vanish when jogging.

Have a great week and may your scrap heap occasionally give inspiration.

Sticky Situation?

Good morning! We have a lovely sunshine this morning, better enjoy it as long it lasts. I'm not sure if today's card qualifies for the Less Is More challenge, so I'm keeping fingers crossed both for the weather and the card.

I followed the sketch, but I'm still unsure about the amount of white space, loved to work with the sketch though.

The fab pine branch and the sentiment are Penny Black stamps and the edge was made with a MS punch.

Birdhouse for a Bumblebee

Hiya all! Glad to see you again, hope you're well. Next week I'll be back in the classroom teaching so I'm preparing the term, following the Olympic Games and admiring lazy bumblebees, I think I like them more than butterflies!

I've made a little birdhouse with a bumblebee; I've coloured it with acrylics and made a fence of lollipop sticks. The heart and the pots were made with paper clay. I can really recommend paper clay, it's easy to work with and doesn't crack or wilt whilst drying.

The bumblebee was made of a wooden badge and wire. The grass is also of wood and precoloured when bought.

The tiny flower were cut with a QK die, Liquid pearls and Stickles added for some shine.

Christmas In July

Ooo, I spotted a new follower, a warm welcome sweetie! Today we've been enjoying a Jubilee Marathon, it was 100 years since the Olympic Games were in Stockholm and they're celebrating it with a Marathon. The runners passed our house twice today, they still are in fact, some of them are even walking, it's quite an achievement anyhow!

We have a new challenge at Creatalicious Challenges, this time we want to see Christmas projects. I know it's early, but better get some of them done even if it's only July. I'll probably be sweating over them in December anyhow. Hope you'll join us big time! I made a pressie tag and was a bit inspired by the summer green colours.

We're being sponsored by Bizzy Becs Store, please check our blog for the details and to see the teams fab projects.

I used:

Deep in the Ocean

I've been wanting to use a sardine tin for a small nautic scene for a long time and at last it's here. I used stamps from Pink Paislee's Nantucket set and created sun rays with a mask. You can almost see the rays in the right top corner. It was fun to work with something else than a card for a change and I can really recommend a tin for a project, just have a nice and strong glue for the details. I might need to have more sardines for lunch!

Golden summer days

Oh dear, a follower left after the glittery pink post. I admit that the card was a bit over the edge when it comes to the amount of glitter, and it was very pink! I must be in a very girly mood because after a hair cut and some shopping yesterday, I came home with a pair of pink trainers and shorts. Hehe, I'm usually not that colourful, but they will give all other joggers some distraction...or headache! Today's card is more down to earth and very clean so please don't run away.

Number Cruncher

Hiya all! Hope you're doing fine. Time for a new Cupcake Craft Challenge and this week we're celebrating our 200th challenge!!! Wohoo!!! The fab Faye wants to see something numeric and we're being sponsored by Quixotic Paperie and Sassy Studio Designs, please check our blog for all details and to see the teams numbers.

I've been experimenting again and got the inspiration for this card from the Paper Craft Planet. I guess we all have jars with glitter collecting dust or at least mine have been. Mostly for the reason that you get glitter everywhere when using them, this time my arms were beautifully glittery after the crafty session! Well, the tut says to be gentle but I got possessed by the inner Glitter Fairy.

I used:
Digi stamp from Nan's Designs
Alpha Markers for colouring
Stickles and glitter aplenty
A small bottle cap for the round glue dots
Colorbox ink for background
Impression Obsession sentiment stamp (the word friend was cut out from it)
Distress ink and Cuttlebug tag

Lady in Red

Well, not a real lady, but a butterfly Lady at least. The stamp came as a freebie with a magazine and I believe it's a Chocolate Baroque stamp. But I didn't use the stamp! You know the printed sheet that comes with clear stamps, I coloured it with markers and cut it out...and it was so hard to take a pic of, the light reflects on it easily.
The background and the sentiment are from the Chocolate Baroque Essence of Nature set. I'm quite pleased with the result and it looks fairly simple to make, it took me some hours! He he, no speedy crafting over here!

Hiya all! I'm in a crafty flow right now...for a change! I've been doing some secret and exciting design team stuff, but was so tempted to join the Less Is More challenge this week as they have there elegant blog header as inspiration.

I didn't stick to the colours as I wanted to give it an earthy cowboy feel, please don't ask how the pearls fit in to that! I hope that you recognise some of the elements though. Thank you Mandi and Chrissie for giving so much fab inspiration!

I used:
Spellbinder label dies
Tim Holtz sentiment
Hein design flourish
Hero Arts large wood grain stamp
Penny Black music notes
Rich Cocoa Memento ink
Distress ink

Hope your coffe will keep you going!

Bright As A Button

This week at Cupcake Craft Challenges the lovely Louise wants to see bright colours and buttons. Digi Doodle shop is offering a lucky winner a $10 Gift Certificate and Simon Says Stamp is offering a lucky winner a $20 Gift Certificate, great huh?! Please check our blog for all the details and to see the teams fab projects.

I got inspiration for this card from the fantastic Michelle Zindorf. I loved the design of the card and the fact that I could use some scraps for the border. The scrap heap has been shouting for attention whilst splurting paper strips all over the floor.
I stamped the scraps with a dot row from Penny Black with a vivid red Brilliance ink to give them some similarity.
The background was brayered with Distress Inks, the clouds and waves were doodled with Sakura and UniBall pens. The image stamps came with the Craft Stamper magazine.
To make the reverse of the balloon the image was stamped on a plastic sheet and then used for stamping. It doesn't matter if the image isn't perfect as it's only a reflection. Great for impatient crafters like me!

Summer Beauty

Hiya all! Hope you're having a great week and get some sunshine. We're having some sun for a change...at the moment. It really lifts the summer spirit after the heavy rains we had! All work at school is done so it feels like a gift to be able to fully enjoy the beauty of the summer.

I've tried another Clean And Simple card, guess the three half pearls are too much, hehe! Well, it needed some umph!! The stamps are from Pink Paislee and they are stamped with Memento Bamboo Leaves. I cut out the ornament thingy from the sentiment stamp to get a cleaner look. The flowers are paper pieced with MME Bella Bella paper scraps...and I don't know if I dare to say that I added some Antique Linen Stickles to them.

All Through The Night

The heavy rains and winds are here too, a typical summer weather! No need to fill picnic baskets and no silly sunburns today, so I'm hiding in my tiny crafty corner. I tried to make a CAS but I found them difficult, so it's more a could have been a CAS card as I kept adding things to the whiteness of the card. Kind of like it anyway!

I used:
Penny Black angel and sentiment
Memento Paris Dusk ink
Derwent watercolour pens
MS border punch

I used:

Tim Holtz corner and swirl stamp from the Regal Flourish set
Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo Distress inks
Penny Black sentiment from the Clearly In Love set
Golden Liquid Pearls and Perfect Pearls
Spellbinders Foliage dies
