My Favourite Five

I hope you had a fab Christmas day and that Santa was kind to you this year. We had a traditional Christmas dinner with a Swedish Smörgåsbord (a buffet with pickled herrings, salmon, meatballs, sausages, pâté, ham, brown cabbage, cheese, almond pastries, cooked pears and choccies). Santa brought a paper guillotine and it cuts like a dream, no wavy edges no more!

The lovely Debby has a nice and easy challenge and wants to see our Favourite Five Christmas Cards for 2011, so here they are:
The cute Penny Black snowman
A free stamp from Craft Stamper
Penny Black Poinsettias from Christmas Treasures
Penny Black Berry Branches
A retired text stamp

Thanks for visiting!

Colour Me Beautiful

Hiya all! We're already in the middle of December....oh dear, I'm running late with the want to do list for Christmas.... the good thing is that we have a new lovely challenge at Creatalicious, yay!!! We've got a fantastic prize with three digis, please check our blog for all the details and the teams gorgeous creations. And the challenge runs for a month so you've got plenty of time!

This time we're asking for a fab colour combo; pink, purple, green and white. So grab the mojo and bring 'em on! I used a Creative Expressions topper for both of the cards. The pink colour on the first one changed to a red colour when finished with a layer of Stickles and Glossy accents, silly colours not behaving, but the sparkle effect looks great, huh!
I'm entering:
Christmas Card Challenge: Christmas with optional doodling (none on my cards)

Sparkles Aplenty

Good morning all! This week at Cupcake Craft Challenges our fab teamie Jane wants us to sparkle aplenty. A very appropriate challenge to keep the december darkness at the Northern hemisphere at bay. I did let go of all the thoughts of restraint and squeezed out the last fairy dust Stickles from the bottle! It's somehow a very liberating feel to really indulge in pinks and sparkle.

We're being sponsored by the generous Saturated Canary, Cupcake Cards And Crafts and our special monthly sponsor Polka Doodles. The Saturated Canary also kindly offered the team digis and I fell in love with the adorable Baby Cakes, so sweet and yet well grounded with her lovely boots. Check our blog for all the details and to see the teams gorgeous projects.

I also used:

Back Me Up

Good morning all! It's Monday again, last week just flew away and I'm left with a feeling that there are things I should have remembered but have forgotten totally...paying reciprocal visits to all who kindly left comments might be on the list too! It would be great if it was as easy to make a back up of everything you should remember as to back up a computer.

It's much easier and much more fun to make your own backing paper as the lovely Rachel at Cupcake Craft Challenges is asking for this week. Please check our blog for the details and the teams fantastic projects.

Simon Says Stamps are generously offering a lucky winner a $20 Gift Certificate and our monthly sponsor Polka Doodles are offering two lucky winners the Pretty Sweet CD. Fab prizes, aren't they!?!

I used a messed up piece from another card for the image; Penny Black's Berry Branch with Distress Stickles and a background made with the Distress Inks. The text says Merry Christmas in Swedish.
The backing paper is made with TH script stamp and Penny Black Paisley Pattern with Distress Inks.

I'm entering:
Simon Says Stamps: Anything Goes
Fab'n'Funky: Anything Goes
ABC Christmas Challenge: X for Xerox, I've chosen Lacey's card below from the N is for No Nonsense challenge (the clean design, the lovely green and yellow colours in the image and a bit of stitching)

And backing papers!!!

Lets get Krafty!

Morning bloggers! Hope you had a lovely weekend and aren't stressing with the Christmas preparations. I've started the hunt for pressies and the occasional sweat appears every now and then; the crowds seems to have embraced the thought of early shopping too, so I'm not alone. Well, one can only hope that I'll be feeling warm and fuzzy as the mouse above when the day arrives. (The text says Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year in Swedish.)

We have a brilliant theme chosen by the fabulous Donna at Cupcake Craft Challenges this week; colour on kraft! I didn't have any neutral kraft so I used the inside of a pasta package. It worked very well and I had enough of it to make a first try for the bin and a second to show. It did take a bit experimenting to get the colours right, but I can really recommend it, kraft is much more forgiving than plain white paper. Please check our blog for all details and to see the teams fantastic projects!

We're being sponsored by Crafty Emma's Store with a £10 Gift Voucher and by our monthly sponsor Crafts U Love with a £15 Gift Voucher. A fab shopping spree!!!

I used:
House Mouse image
Retired text stamp
White Uni Ball pen
Glossy Accents
Aqua Colours
Distress Inks
Stickles

I'm entering:

Seeing Zebras?

Good morning friends! Hope you have plans for a fab weekend; we'll have a dinner with my mum and her man. We don't see each other too often as they live far away at the countryside, so it's a happy occasion. And I know that she has lots of wild mushrooms and game meat to us! But no zebras...I'm a bit out of my comfort zone with the card...

I'm entering:

Teenage Boys

Hi there! Hope you had a fab weekend and are ready for a new week. We had a dinner out at a Malaysian restaurant and I'm still high on the gorgeous spicy flavours, yum!

This week at Cupcake the fabulous Denise has chosen the theme to be Teenage Boys. I've made a card for a young man who's celebrating his 17:th birthday and I had a quick check with hubby to see if the card could fit a young man...he said: "OOO Camouflage Colours"!!! I guess it was ok then, he he!

Check our blog for all the details and to see the teams fantastic work! And please go and share some well deserved love with our new teamie, the fantastic Keeley! A warm welcome on board hun!

I used:

Leave Me Not

Good morning friends! Every morning when hasting to catch the bus to work I'm counting the leaves on the trees. We've had a touch of frost, but there are still some leaves hanging in there, glowing in the dim morning light. Soon they'll be gone too and it will be time for a glimmering Christmas tree, but I do love the leaves.
I've made a few one layers for Less Is More, bare branches with the odd leaves left. There's a Christmas Wish in Swedish too, God Jul means Merry Christmas! There are some bold, for one layers, pearls and Stickles for the festive season. I'm also joining: Bunny Zoe's Crafts (Anything Christmas with pearls), Critter Sketch Challenge (monochrome) and Dream Valley Challenges (stitches).

Oh, I almost forgot, I've won a My Memories software at the fabulous Kim Dellow's blog! I can really recommend a visit, she makes such lovely and interesting things!

I used:

Memories black ink
Sakura pen for doodling

The fantastic Delphine wants us two use images of two boys, two girls or one of each on your project. The idea is to have two or more characters on your work coming from the same stamp or different stamps. Animals don't count, but fairies and angels are ok.

We're being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs who are offering 4 Digis of Winners Choice and by our special monthly sponsor Crafts U Love who are offering a £15 Gift Voucher. Please check our blog for the details and to see the teams fabulous work!

Good morning and Happy Halloween! Hope you had a fab weekend and are ready for a new challenge at Cupcake. Our lovely teamie Shelly has chosen us the theme, Take a Leaf out of my Book! Never, Nevermore

Hiya, hope you're having plans for a great weekend. I'll pay the shopping mall a visit; youngest son is a fast growing teenager and he needs some new clothes for the winter. He'll do the shopping and I'll have a coffee, not so bad at all!

I'm often checking Gingersnap Creations for inspiration and I've been admiring their Edgar Allan Poe themed work this month. He's perfect reading and inspiration for October; the words on the card comes from "The Raven".

I used the alco inks resist technique on acetate. Archival ink pulls off the alco ink, but you have to be quick with the tissue paper, the archival ink needs to be removed before it dries.
The acetate was tricky to take a pic of, it has a zig zag edge, part of the image is under it and the raven and the frame is above it. Can't remember where the image is from, but whoever you are, thank you very much for sharing it!

I'm entering:

I used:
Butterscotch and Cranberry alco inks
TH script stamp
Distress Inks
Golden and rust Perfect Pearls
Distress embossing powder
Stampscape tree stamp
Excahngeable leaf stamp
Sun shaped punch for flowers
Nestabilities circle die
Hole punch

Thanks for visiting, come back soon again!

Enough Distressed!?

Yup, for this week it's enough! I've got in to the work mode and am trying to squeeze in time to craft when at home, it's a slow progress but it does good to the soul!

Here's another one of my Stampscape scenes, but for me different colour scheme; blue and bright yellow. Still not sure about it, but it's a striking combo! You might need that after the monochrome card in the previous post :)

The dry embossing was made with a Cuttlebug and a folder. The embossed parts and all the yellow edges were distressed with ink. I even used a paper scraper to get a worn look! The corners are also Cuttlebug.

I'm entering:
Fab'n'Funky Challenges: Distressed or torn
Creatalicious Challenges: Distress your edges

Hope you're having a fab week full of fun crafting. I'm so glad that you popped in for a visit.

Happy Wednesday!

Hope you're having a great week. I thought that I would join the Wednesday fun at Julia's place today. I've been snooping around the desks without showing mine for a long time, so here we go; the usual cardmaking clutter, two pairs of scissors (love the aqua coloured), a music device in it's felt cover and a diary. There's a job contract hidden in the pile too, I should really put it away before I accidentally cover it with inks. I've been job hunting and will start working part time at a fab school for adults next week!

I also have a card ready for the challenge at Less Is More; one layer cards with hearts.

I made a mask for the heart and applied Distress ink with a sponge and stamped it with Penny Black's Paisley Pattern. The sentiment is from the PB Illumination set. I added some paper piercing, a half pearl and cut corners to finish it off. The coloured edges have the same colour as the heart in real life. My thoughts must be on something else than managing the camera today.

I'll better start preparing for the lessons and have a cuppa, have a fabulous week! Thanks for visiting!

Warm hugs

Cute as a Pumpkin

Good morning Star Shines! Hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for a new week.
I had a fab family weekend with good food and all the usual stuff; shopping, laundry and cleaning. But as I managed to fit in some crafting...all is good in the world!

This week at Cupcake Craft Challenges the lovely Louise has chosen us the theme to be Halloween. I love to make pumpkin pies (and to buy candy!) for Halloween. It's a great way to bring some warmth and spice into the chill of October, even though the celebration in itself isn't big here.

We're being generously sponsored by Cupcake Cards and Crafts with a paper collection of the winner's choice and by our special October sponsors; Polka Doodles who are offering the Pretty Sweet - Mini CD Collection and Scrap Affair who are offering a five pack of ProMarkers!!!!

Autumnal Joy

Already October and we're enjoying a few warm and sunny days and the leaves are turning into beautiful shades of red, orange and yellow. I love the colours and the crisp air, but I wouldn't mind if the daylight stayed a few more hours.

The background for the image is made with a layer of gesso on paper and wiped and dry sponged acrylics. Perfect Pearls were added for a bit shimmer. The PB image is stamped with Memories Ink. The bird is outlined with a black glaze pen and the berries did get a coat of red Stickles.
The patterned paper is made with Distress inks, Perfect Pearls and Exchangeable leaf stamps. The heart button is painted with Rangers Crackle paint.

If you go down the woods today...

...you might find a bear there! He, he, or not! This week the fabulous Faye has chosen us to use an image including a teddy at Cupcake Craft Challenges.

We're being sponsored by the generous Sassy Studio Designs, who are offering 4 Digital images to a lucky winner. And our Special September sponsor, Bunny Zoe's, are offering a lucky winner a £15 Gift Voucher. Visit our blog for all the details and to see the teams gorgeous projects.

I went down to my stamp drawers.....and I didn't find any teddies or even cute bears. But as I love Penny Black stamps and especially the images made by Margaret Sherry, I decided to use one of her cross stitch charts. You can find the chart as a free download here at the Cross Sticher. I used the Best of mag with loads of fab charts.

The frame is made of fabrics and I kept it bare for some later decoration. This will be a part of an ABC set if I'll get around to make the other two letters!
