Christmas In July

Ooo, I spotted a new follower, a warm welcome sweetie! Today we've been enjoying a Jubilee Marathon, it was 100 years since the Olympic Games were in Stockholm and they're celebrating it with a Marathon. The runners passed our house twice today, they still are in fact, some of them are even walking, it's quite an achievement anyhow!

We have a new challenge at Creatalicious Challenges, this time we want to see Christmas projects. I know it's early, but better get some of them done even if it's only July. I'll probably be sweating over them in December anyhow. Hope you'll join us big time! I made a pressie tag and was a bit inspired by the summer green colours.

We're being sponsored by Bizzy Becs Store, please check our blog for the details and to see the teams fab projects.

I used:
Santa, holly and sentiment stamps from Joanna Sheen
Derwent watercolour pens
Stickles and Perfect Pearls
Cuttlebug star die
Spelbinder ornament die
Versfine black ink
Pine Needle Distress ink

Deep in the Ocean

I've been wanting to use a sardine tin for a small nautic scene for a long time and at last it's here. I used stamps from Pink Paislee's Nantucket set and created sun rays with a mask. You can almost see the rays in the right top corner. It was fun to work with something else than a card for a change and I can really recommend a tin for a project, just have a nice and strong glue for the details. I might need to have more sardines for lunch!

I also used:
Aqua Markers for colouring
Spellbinders foliage die
Distress inks and Stickles
Liquid Pearls

Golden summer days

Oh dear, a follower left after the glittery pink post. I admit that the card was a bit over the edge when it comes to the amount of glitter, and it was very pink! I must be in a very girly mood because after a hair cut and some shopping yesterday, I came home with a pair of pink trainers and shorts. Hehe, I'm usually not that colourful, but they will give all other joggers some distraction...or headache! Today's card is more down to earth and very clean so please don't run away.
 I used:
Scattered Straw Distress ink for the squares
Vintage Photo Distress ink and embossing ink for the flowers
Penny Black Fireworks stamp
Golden embossing powder
Sentiment from the Penny Black Hugs set
Black Versa Fine ink

The golden embossing powder.

Number Cruncher

Hiya all! Hope you're doing fine. Time for a new Cupcake Craft Challenge and this week we're celebrating our 200th challenge!!! Wohoo!!! The fab Faye wants to see something numeric and we're being sponsored by Quixotic Paperie and Sassy Studio Designs, please check our blog for all details and to see the teams numbers.

I've been experimenting again and got the inspiration for this card from the Paper Craft Planet. I guess we all have jars with glitter collecting dust or at least mine have been. Mostly for the reason that you get glitter everywhere when using them, this time my arms were beautifully glittery after the crafty session! Well, the tut says to be gentle but I got possessed by the inner Glitter Fairy.

I used:
Digi stamp from Nan's Designs
Alpha Markers for colouring
Stickles and glitter aplenty
A small bottle cap for the round glue dots
Colorbox ink for background
Impression Obsession sentiment stamp (the word friend was cut out from it)
Distress ink and Cuttlebug tag

I would like to enter:
One Stop Craft Challenges: Summer Flowers
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge: Spots
Cardmad Fairys Digi Days: Summertime
Simply Create Too: Summer/Vacation

Have a week filled with sparkle!

Lady in Red

Well, not a real lady, but a butterfly Lady at least. The stamp came as a freebie with a magazine and I believe it's a Chocolate Baroque stamp. But I didn't use the stamp! You know the printed sheet that comes with clear stamps, I coloured it with markers and cut it out...and it was so hard to take a pic of, the light reflects on it easily.
The background and the sentiment are from the Chocolate Baroque Essence of Nature set. I'm quite pleased with the result and it looks fairly simple to make, it took me some hours! He he, no speedy crafting over here!

Enjoy your weekend! I've been out for a long walk so I'll stretch my legs and enjoy a cuppa.

Less Is More

Hiya all! I'm in a crafty flow right now...for a change! I've been doing some secret and exciting design team stuff, but was so tempted to join the Less Is More challenge this week as they have there elegant blog header as inspiration.

I didn't stick to the colours as I wanted to give it an earthy cowboy feel, please don't ask how the pearls fit in to that! I hope that you recognise some of the elements though. Thank you Mandi and Chrissie for giving so much fab inspiration!

I used:
Spellbinder label dies
Tim Holtz sentiment
Hein design flourish
Hero Arts large wood grain stamp
Penny Black music notes
Rich Cocoa Memento ink
Distress ink

I would also like to join:
One Stop Craft Challenge: Coffee and Creme

Hope your coffe will keep you going!

Bright As A Button

This week at Cupcake Craft Challenges the lovely Louise wants to see bright colours and buttons. Digi Doodle shop is offering a lucky winner a $10 Gift Certificate and Simon Says Stamp is offering a lucky winner a $20 Gift Certificate, great huh?! Please check our blog for all the details and to see the teams fab projects.

I got inspiration for this card from the fantastic Michelle Zindorf. I loved the design of the card and the fact that I could use some scraps for the border. The scrap heap has been shouting for attention whilst splurting paper strips all over the floor.
I stamped the scraps with a dot row from Penny Black with a vivid red Brilliance ink to give them some similarity.
The background was brayered with Distress Inks, the clouds and waves were doodled with Sakura and UniBall pens. The image stamps came with the Craft Stamper magazine.
To make the reverse of the balloon the image was stamped on a plastic sheet and then used for stamping. It doesn't matter if the image isn't perfect as it's only a reflection. Great for impatient crafters like me!

I would like to enter:
DYSU Challenge: Blue Skys and Clouds
Charisma Cardz: Anything Goes, 2nd entry
Stampin' for the Weekend: Show Us Your Style:

Have a bright week with warming breezes!
