If you go down the woods today... might find a bear there! He, he, or not! This week the fabulous Faye has chosen us to use an image including a teddy at Cupcake Craft Challenges.

We're being sponsored by the generous Sassy Studio Designs, who are offering 4 Digital images to a lucky winner. And our Special September sponsor, Bunny Zoe's, are offering a lucky winner a £15 Gift Voucher. Visit our blog for all the details and to see the teams gorgeous projects.

I went down to my stamp drawers.....and I didn't find any teddies or even cute bears. But as I love Penny Black stamps and especially the images made by Margaret Sherry, I decided to use one of her cross stitch charts. You can find the chart as a free download here at the Cross Sticher. I used the Best of mag with loads of fab charts.

The frame is made of fabrics and I kept it bare for some later decoration. This will be a part of an ABC set if I'll get around to make the other two letters!

Edited to add:
I'm entering The Crafty Calender Challenge: Let Sleeping Bears Lie

Have a fabulous week!

The Dark Side

Good morning Cupcake Lovers! This week we're exploring The Dark Side as the lovely Delphine has chosen it as a theme...well, really, all you need to do is to use purple and black. You can stamp onto a neutral, use skin tones and hair, unless you want purple or black hair! But otherwise, it's all purple and black!

Check our blog for all the details and to see the team's fabulous creations.

We're generously being sponsored by Prairie Fairy Designs with a $15 Gift Certificate and by our Special September Sponsor, Bunny Zoe's, with a £15 Gift Voucher.

The team was also kindly sponsored by the Prairie Fairy and I fell in love with Dotty, isn't she gorgeous!? She was perfect for the card I had in my mind, a masked moon ... or perhaps a mysterious new planet approaching the earth!!!
You can tell what kind of films I watch by my cards...

The background is made with Distress Inks and masks, the moon/planet was sprayed with Perfect Pearls and water to get a shimmery splatter effect. The Penny Black Hillflowers and the edges are stamped with Memories black ink.

I also used:
Alpha Markers for colouring
Stickles and Glossy Accents
A white Uni Ball pen
Paper Raffia
Micro beads

Oh, and a small tip about micro beads, work on a tray, otherwise you'll have micro beads all over the place! I had!

I'm also entering:

Charisma Cardz Challenges: Sky

Have a fabulous week full of fun!

Out Of Paper!?

Nah, just riding on the simplicity wave... and this time I'm sure that there's enough of lovely whiteness on the card.

The CAS doesn't always come easy for me and I had to put all the papers and embellies safely in a box before I started this time! Just a few morsels were left on my desk...a MME scrap and three gems!

The image is a Penny Black from the Illumination set and it was coloured with Alpha Markers. The text from Inkido is stamped with Distress Ink and it says Thousand Thanks in Swedish.

And it felt like it took a thousand tries on a copy paper to position the card elements! All the whiteness is very intimidating and alluring at the same time.

I'm entering:
Less Is More: Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday: Anything Goes
Creatalicious Challenges: Anything Goes

Enjoy the Weekend!

Patchwork Quilt

Good morning Cupcake lovers! Thanks for joining the fun last week, loved to see your inspirational projects.

This week we're being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp with a $20 Gift Certificate to one lucky winner and our monthly icing on the cake sponsor Bunny Zoe's are offering a £15 Gift Voucher for one lucky winner.

So what do you need to do to win a fab shopping spree?!

The lovely Liza has chosen the theme to be "Patchwork Quilt", so you need to show us a patchwork. It makes me think of cozy cottages with fire places and autumn strolls in the wood. Maybe you could find a fairy there too?

The patchwork above was made of scrap strips, as a thrifty crafter I hoard all the smaller bits and the amount of them is often overwhelming! But they are great when you want to make own flowers or die cuts...

I also used:

Fairy stamp from The Greeting Farm
Aqua Markers for colouring
Cuttlebug's Olivia alphabet for the "Hi"
Sewing machine
Roses from my stash

I'm entering:

By The Cute And Girly: All things bright and beautiful
Charisma Cardz Challenges: Anything goes
Simon Says Stamps Challenge: Anything goes

Get Ahead For Christmas

It's already September and time for a new challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts. This month our guest designer is the talented Doreen, please pay her a visit and spread some love.

Brenda has chosen a very apt theme for us; Get Ahead For Christmas. Don't we all need to stock cards for the Season!?

Just remember that you have to use a Penny Black stamp or Stickeroo as your focal image to be eligible for one of our fantastic prizes. We have a set of Aqua Markers from Letraset and Penny Black goodies!

I've created a little scene with Berry Branch and Simple Scroll in black ink and snowflakes from the Crystalline set in white ink.

The background is made with Distress inks and Stampscape stamps and masks on glossy paper. Stickles and doodling with a white Uni Ball pen were added for some interest.

The sentiment is an old retired stamp cut with an oval Nestie. The blue background paper is made with Hero Arts Rain drop and Distress inks.
