A card and a sneak peak

Hope you're all doing well this lovely Wednesday. We're enjoying the warm weather, it makes such a change from all the rain.

I'm getting a lot of inspiration from other crafters this summer and I've cased a fantastic card from the August issue of the Craft Stamper Magazine. It feels a bit like cheating, but mimicking is a great way to learn....or maybe it's only a lame excuse from me when mojo is lowish, rofl.

I'm entering the Less Is More Challenge who wants to see Button or Ribbon and The ABC Challenge who has Z for Zoo this week.

I used:
A wooden stamp from India
Prima sentiment
MS edge punch
Colorbox inks and chalks (lovely inks, but can't recommend the Cat's Eyes, the ink pads easily falls off)

And now the sneak peak:

I'm honoured to say that the sweet Cupcakes have invited me to their team. The excitement has been quite overwhelming and I've enjoyed it thoroughly. Many thanks for having me!!!

The pic shows a part of a creation I've made for next weeks challenge, just had to add a cupcake! You'll see the entire project on Monday.

A Quick Card

The ABC Challenge has Y as for Yesterday and I've chosen the challenge theme from November 2008 Q as for A Quick Card.

The thought wasn't bad at all, no image to colour and an easy layout I've seen at....The Sweet Stop?...but somewhere after choosing the papers I lost the plot and the cardmaking took it's time as usually.

I used:
Text stamp from Penny Black
Design papers from MME Bella Bella
Spellbinder circle die
Cuttlebug dies for the flowers and the flower pot
EK Success punch for the edge
The pearls are coloured with Alpha Markers

My thoughts goes to Norway this day...and all other countries experiencing a difficult time.

I Believe In Angels

Oh, yes, I do believe in angels, in the real kind, those caring ones that reaches out a hand when you need it the most....hope you have met them too.

This angel is a Penny Black one coloured with Aqua Markers and Liquid Pearls. You can dilute the Liquid Pearls with water and get a more manageable paint, I use one of my clear stamp blocks when I prepare Aqua Markers and Liquid Pearls, lay a white paper under it so that you can see the colours well. Remember to wipe off the colours with a damp cloth when you're done.

I added highlights with an Uni Ball and a fair amount of Distress Stickles.

The sentiment says Merry Christmas in Swedish and it's stamped with Distress Inks. The design papers are from my scrap heap.

I'm entering:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Christmas In July
Cupcake Craft Challenges: Nr 39 Christmas
Moving Along With The Times: Favourite Things (The colour blue, dies, brads, Stickles, Penny Black stamps, Liquid Pearls, water based colours, water colour paper and using scraps)

P.S. You still have plenty of time to enter our easy challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts; use any Penny Black stamp or Stickeroo as an image and add a flower or two.

Flower Power

It's already July and time for a new challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts and our 1:st Anniversary! Woohoo! Check the challenge post for our Birthday Quiz. We also have guest designer, the lovely Katherine, as our much loved teamie Ellie has left us.

Brenda has chosen an easy theme for us, Flower Power. You can interpret the theme as you wish, with flower embellishment or floral patterned papers or of course to choose an image with flowers on.

Remember that you have to use a Penny Black stamp or Stickeroo as you focal image to be eligible for one of our fantastic prizes.

We have a set of Aqua Markers from Letraset, lots of Penny Black goodies from our generous sponsors; Penny Black Inc, Sir Stampalot and Crimson Cloud.

I used:
Penny Black Fireworks stamp on glossy cardstock, stamped with embossing ink and heat embossed with a pearly sparkly powder combination, I mixed two powders as the sparkly never popped out when heated.

The background is created with Distress Inks, I tried to make a bold mix reminding of the Flower Power generation, hence the purple star shaped buttons. The doodling is made with a white Uni Ball, it's the best white pen ever! I also added some Stickles and ribbon.

(You might be able see a pattern on the green cardstock, it's made with a Creative Expressions box medallion stamped tone on tone. I'll use it as a focal image later on so that you can see how it looks.)
