Christmas Flowers For Midsummer

Hope you're all having a fabulous Midsummer weekend. Mine has been very traditional, I even danced around the May Pole, lol.
I know, it sounds like a mix up between Midsummer and May celebration, but that tradition goes some hundred years back. I can only guess, maybe it's because we live in the cold north and all the wild growing flowers are at their best around Midsummer.

Talking about flowers, for the card I used Christmas flowers from the Penny Black Christmas Treasures clear set. The flowers in the oval are heat embossed with clear powder and coloured with Aqua Markers.
I used Distress Inks for all the other flowers and background pieces. The faux stitching is made with a Sakura pen and I also used Antique Linen Distress Stickles for some glitter. The Antique Linen gives a soft golden touch, can recommend it.

The brilliant sketch is from Mojo Monday, it was great to play with, I changed the card base to a square, hope it's ok.

I'm also entering:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Stitch It Up
ABC Christmas Challenge: M is for Monochrome
Charisma Cardz Challenge: White plus one colour
Christmas Card Challenges: Die Cuts (I used Nestabilities)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Just For You

An easy peasy card today, I need to make preparations for the Midsummer celebrations we'll have tomorrow; we'll build a Maypole and hopefully I won't need to dance around it! We'll have traditional food that includes herring, a barbecue and strawberries. The rain is pouring down today, let's hope it will pass.

The heart and text stamps are from Penny Black Clearly In Love set, both have been heat embossed with clear powder. The design paper is MME Bella Bella and the doodling is made with an Aqua Marker.

I'm entering:
Daring Cardmakers: Rocking All Over The World
Scrapbook Sisters: Anything Goes
The Sweet Stop: A Sketch With A Spin

I'm so honoured, one of my cards is displayed at Gingersnap Creations! Thanks!

Warm hugs

In The Pink

Penny Black Saturday Challenge is asking for Pesky Critters for their birthday, so here's one for you! Don't we just love the PB critters! I chose one of the hedgies and a butterfly from the Hugs set and they're coloured with Aqua Markers and Stickles. The green background paper is made with Distress Inks and Hero Arts large grid pattern stamp.

I'm also entering:
A Spoon Full of Sugar: Ribbons and Bows
Bizzy Becs Creatalicious Challenges: A fab sketch to follow
Charisma Cardz: Pink and Green

I'll catch up on commenting, time flies even when working part time, might not be able to visit you all tonight, but will continue tomorrow.

Summer Beach

Hope you're having a great week; mine has been a roller coast one with quick changes between the ups and downs but I believe and really hope I've come to the smooth last bit now and that everything is slowing down for the weekend. I have got some new goodies to play with too, so I'm well prepared for two gorgeous days.

The idea for this card came from the super talented Michelle Zindorf, she's well worth a visit as her cards and tutorials are brilliant.

The beach and waterline were brayered with Distress Inks and the summer wish (it's Happy Summer in Swedish) was stamped with a Hero Arts alphabet, also with Distress Inks. The dots were made with Alpha Markers.
The wave and surfboard were made with Quickutz dies from scraps, I added glitter and shine with Sakura pens, Perfect Pearls and Stickles.
The large flower is a Prima, the white was made with a TH die and all other details are from my stash.

Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Buttons, (Perfect) Pearls and Shape (the wave and the surfboard)
Our Creative Corner: I was inspired by the dots and the sand and orange colours
Moving Along With The Times: Inspired by Surfin' USA by The Beach Boys
For Fun Challenges: Summer Fun
A Spoon Full Of Sugar: Splish Splash

Wishing you a fabulous weekend full of fun,

warm hugs

Frame It!

Good morning fellow stamp lovers! I woke up to yet another day with glorious sunshine and warmth, it's really making wonders to my mojo, I have more ideas than time at the moment, wonder if it works to write them down for later use? Maybe ideas are like delicate vegetables; they will wilt if not used at once, lol.

At least I have framed one of the ideas with good help from a few challenges:
Less Is More: In The Frame
Just Us Girls: The Woodgrain Technique
Penny Black Saturday: One for the guys

And a small double check; yep, there's a lot of fabulous white space, the camera wanted to make it blueish greyish whatever I tried, we're not on a friendly basis today! The woodgrain technique is used, but with blue colours. And I really hope this will work for a male as it's intended to a loved one, at least the frame is male enough.

I used:
A Prima frame with black Memories Ink
Color Box Inks and Chalks for the woodgrain technique
Penny Black flower vase from the Illumination set and text from the Hugs set
Liquid Pearls

Enjoy your Sunday,
lot's of love

Lime and Cherry

This card was an experimental one; the background is made with a large Hero Art wood pattern stamp, it was inked with Distress Ink and set it aside.

In the mean time I inked a Penny Black stamp from the Illumination set with another colour and stamped it several times (with a little twist) onto the Hero Arts stamp.

At this point the large stamp needs a huff or a light mist of water and then you're ready to stamp it onto paper and voilĂ  you've got a new background to use!

The sentiment, flower pot and small flowers are Impression Obsession, heat embossed with clear powder and coloured with Sakura pens. The swirl is a TH and also heat embossed.

The colours are also experimental, way out of my comfort zone, but I quite like them now when the weather is hot, or maybe I've only got to many hours out in the sun!

I'm entering:
Simon Says Stamps Challenge: Let's get fruity!
A Spoon Full Of Sugar: Here Comes Summer
By The Cute And Girly: In The Garden

I used:
Penny Black Crystalline clear stamp set
Distress Inks
Gems from my stash

I'm entering:

Moving Along With The Times: No Designer paper
Less Is More: Hm, I began with the rectangle in the centre, but I lost the plot somewhere, it looks nice though

You're my favourite!

Already June, my favourite month, and time for a new challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts. Brenda has set us with a great theme this month, show us your favourite PB stamp or Stickeroo! It could be a difficult task to choose just one of their lovely stamps, but remember that you can enter with three different creations per challenge, so you can actually pick your top three.

I've been cheating as I have two favourites; the butterflies are from the Butterfly Ball stamp, stamped with different ColorBox inks and chalks and cut out. The background is made with Leopards' Bane, I bought it for nothing on a sale and struggled a bit when I first used it, but it's my all time favourite.

The petrol blue backing paper was also made with a ColorBox ink to match the stamped images and the purple one is made of several scrap pieces, glued together. I used a KS corner rounder to create the scalloped edge, the yellow paper is in two pieces, but mounted to look like a paper strip. The embellies are from my stash.

We have great prizes this month, so join us with your all time PB favourites.
