Going Oriental for The Allsorts Challenge

I'm guest designing for the Allsorts Challenge this week and the theme is Oriental. It became a thinking of you card as I thought very much of Japan whilst making it.

I brayered a glossy card with Distress Inks and masked off for the sun. The mountain is a Stampscape stamp and it was stamped with a ColorBox chalk. The bamboo, the text and the butterflies are from the Penny Black Illumination set, they were all stamped with Memories ink (let the ink dry a day before you move on with the highlights, otherwise it will smudge). The highlights were made with a white Sakura pen. Corners are QK. The half pearls were white but I coloured them with a purple marker.

Thank you so much for having me Allsorts!

Happily Ever After

I'll be following the Royal Wedding at BBC today, the guests are entering Westminster just now, just waiting to see the beautiful Kate and Prince William.

Kate is just stunning in vivid purple and blue colours, that gave me the inspiration for the colours, but they were a bit tricky to take a decent pic of. I used PB stamps from the Clearly In Love and Illumination set and Color Box inks and chalks and clear embossing powder.

In the sewing room

My craft room, more of a den actually as there's no windows, could be called a sewing room. Before the stamp addiction and card making bug hit me I used to sew dresses. Nowadays the sewing machine often stands there badly neglected. This time I neglected my stamps too, lol. A card without stamping, oh dear, but at least I used inks for shading and background!

Enjoy the rest of the Easter weekend,

Spring Colours

Hope you all had a great weekend and are ready for a new week. Over here it has started very pleasantly with a nice and warm day, over 10 degrees Celsius, with Crocuses and Snowdrops in full bloom. All the last ugly snow patches have melted so it certainly does feel like Spring at last, there's no better inspiration for an Easter card. (Glad Påsk means Happy Easter in Swedish.)

I used:
Magnolia stamp
Derwent watercolour pens
Sakura glaze pen and Uni ball white
DCWV alphabet stickers
Cuttlebug asterisks and ornamental dies
Spellbinder oval die

I'm entering:
Simon Says Stamp - Spring Colours/Easter
Stampin' for the Weekend: Easter
Just Magnolia And Hänglar & Stänglar - they have a great sketch this week

Thanks for visiting and all the lovely support during my recovery, it has been very much appreciated. I'm feeling much better now, if you ever need to do a Hysterectomy, there are wonderful help forums on the web. It always helps to know that you aren't alone about it.

Warm hugs

Black and White plus One

Here's the card for our April challenge over at Penny Black at Allsorts, this month we're asking for Black and White plus One colour of your choice...and of course to use a Penny Black stamp or Stickeroo as main image. You can use skin tones if needed even for the hedgies!

I've made a clean card for and used two stamps from the Clearly In Love set, some nice glitter cord and a fabulous gem to finish it off. I heat embossed the hearts with black distress powder and now when I look at it, I can't understand why it took me a few hours to make, but it was well spent time, lol!

We have fantastic prizes from our generous sponsors:

I'm feeling better for every day, still needing to rest a lot after the op, but I'm so pleased that everything goes in the right direction. Many thanks for all your support!
