Flowers for Mum

Here's my last project for the Cupcake Craft Challenges, it's been a great time and I've enjoyed every minute of it. This week the theme is Flowers for Mum, so create something nice for Mothers Day and include flowers and you're ready to join the fun. Sassy Studio Designs are sponsoring the challenge this week.

I used:

TH flower dies, QK leaf die, Cuttlebug Vintage corner die.
A music sheet stamp from the PB Clearly In Love set.
Distress Inks for stamping and distressing.
Liquid Pearls for dots.
Acrylic paints from Panduro to create colour wash splatters on the flowers.
Papermania pearl brads.
Design papers and gems are from my stash.

Thanks for having me Cupcake Craft Challenges, I'll come back often and visit you!

Warm hugs

Butterfly tree

Hi everyone! I want to thank for all kind comments you have left me and I will visit you all when I'm strong enough. I've got a small infection and am still very tired from the operation, so I'm a poor blogger and crafter for the time being.

The card above is one that I just finished off with a few embellies, and that took me several weeks, he he, not moving around fast this month. (The green colours turned out dull on the photo, would be great to take a photo class some time, would love to learn me more.)

I'm entering:
Sir Stampalot Challenge: Fresh greens and yellow and/or pink blossoms
Stampin' for the Weekend: For mothers day
Simon Says Stamps Challenge: For mothers day/girlie
Scrapbook Sisters: Anything goes

Lots of love

This week the Cupcake Craft Challenge wants us to make a Monochromatic project and the Prairie Fairy Designs are kindly sponsoring with a prize.

The image and the gorgeous text stamps are Elusive Images. The papers are from my stash and I used a Cuttlebug die for the flowers. The dots are made with Liquid Pearls.

The buttons are made out of paper clay, I rolled out a thin layer and used a glue cap to cut them out, pressed with a Cuttlebug folder to get the swirls on them and used a toothpick to create the holes. After drying over night they were coated with PVA glue, it works as a varnish too. You could mix the paper clay with small amounts of acrylic paints or paint them after drying. Easy peasy lightweight buttons. Hope they'll survive a delivery with the mail.

Up in the Air

This week the theme at Cupcake Craft Challenges is Up in the Air with the option of using Green. You can join the fun and make a project including something you would find up in the air; fairies, planes, hot air balloons, butterflies etc. And as it's St Patrick's Day this week, if you would like to include an optional green element, you can! Our sponsor this week is Digi Doodle Shop.

I made a very clean and simple card this time, but they do take me a day or two to make, lol! The trick is to get everything exactly where they should be .....and there's always room for improvement! I stamped the lovely PB collage stamp with a mix of Distress Inks, the sentiment is from the PB Clearly In Love set and it's been heat embossed with Rangers extra fine powder. The butterfly is a gift.

Join the fun and I'll try to visit you too, I'm still poorly because of the op, it became a large abdominal one. Everything is fine, but the recovery takes its time.

I would like to enter:

Simon Says Stamps Challenge: Anything goes!
Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Green for St Patrick's day
Crafty Calendar Challenge: Spring
By The Cute And Girly: Springtime

Pink Polka Dots

I'm feeling very proud, this is my first project as Guest Designer for Cupcake Craft Challenges. It was one of the first challenges I started to follow when being a newbie cardmaker. Mwah! This week the theme is Pink Polka Dots and Simon Says Stamp are kindly sponsoring with a fantastic prize.

I used lovely papers from the MME Bella Bella and a Penny Black stamp for the image. It's coloured with Derwent watercolour pens and I've added a generous amount of Stickles here and there. The flowers and ornaments were made with Cuttlebug dies, the leaves with QK dies and the label shape with a Spellbinder die. The sentiment is made with a cut out piece from a Magnolia stamp. Ribbon and gems are from my stash.

Hope you join the fun, I'm still recovering from the operation, but I'll soon be back again.

Welcome Spring

It's already March and time for a new challenge at Penny Black at Allsorts, this month the theme is Welcome Spring. The brighter mornings and the longer days are really lovely even though the temperatures still are low here. We've had a very cold winter this year so we might have to wait for the Spring, it usually arrives here midway in March. I'm so wanting to get rid of the bulky winter clothes asap, but I'll gladly hide in my craft room with pastels and butterflies and dream of the warmth instead. Maybe you're doing the same?!

I used:

- A butterfly from the PB Butterfly Ball stamp, stamped with a mix of Distress Inks, added white parts with a white Sakura gel pen and dots with an Aqua Marker.

-PB Leopard's Bane stamped with embossing ink on white cardstock and heat embossed with Rangers extra fine clear powder. Cut out the circle with a scalloped Nestie and made good use of a hole punch. Coloured the background with several layers of Aqua Markers (called resist technique as the embossed area resists the water based colour), added Perfect Pearls (works really good with Aqua Markers too) and made dots with Liquid Pearls.

-A MS border punch and Papermania pearl brads.

-Nestabilities embossing folder for embossing and masking when colouring with Distress Inks, added spots with an Aqua Marker.

All the added dots were a labour of love and quite meditative, can really recommend it if you need a small break from gluing and ordinary colouring. So grab your Penny Black stamps or Stickeroos and your choice of Spring Colours and join the fun, we have fantastic prizes as usually from our lovely sponsors this month too, you'll find the links to them at my sidebar. I'll be slow on the commenting for a week or two as I have an operation planned for today (only removing an endometriosis cyst, nothing worse), but I'll come and visit you as soon as I can.

Sending big hugs your way,
